Hura Pendant Yttrium Fluorite Peridot

The flower shape is hand-carved from yttrium fluorite by an expert artisan, using an age-old, wood-carving technique. Yttrium fluorite is believed to have a calming effect on the mind and body. It is helping to reduce stress and promote feelings of tranquility.

The flower is set with a large brilliant-cut peridot, which symbolizes joy, emotional healing, and love.

The Hura shape is inspired by Karl Blossfeldt (1928), who specialized in macro photography of plants, flowers, and seed heads, resulting in strikingly modern and beautiful images.

Ethically made

All our jewelry is handmade in our Amsterdam atelier. Most of our carvings are hand-carved in our atelier and in Germany. Above all else, we value our community most, our customers, the craftsmen that generously lend us their skill, and everyone else who is involved in this journey. We build lasting relationships, we act with kindness and respect, and value quality of life. All the craftsmen and artisans we work with are compensated fairly.

We only work with people who align with our values of sourcing and crafting and make sure these ethics are lived throughout our supply chain. Where possible we produce locally, but we also highly value our craftsmen who work from a distance. They possess skills that are rare to find and are often tied to remote communities. We take pride in that our collaborations have a direct positive impact on them and their community.

Price transparency

When we first started our business, we aimed to be transparent about our jewelry pricing by providing a price breakdown for each piece. However, due to the constant fluctuations in gold and gemstone prices, it has become challenging to keep detailed cost breakdowns updated on our website.

As a small business with purpose in an industry that is hazy and foggy when it comes to its transparency, we want to lead by example and are committed to bringing transparency to the jewelry industry. If you're interested in receiving a full breakdown of our pricing and cost structure, we’d be happy to email you all the details. Please feel free to contact us at contact@sophiejoanne.com for more information.
